Four fun food events paint a tasty picture this weekend

Paint-Off!, the Providence Rotary Club’s evening of art, food, wine and music, will be Friday, April 21, 6-9 p.m. at Providence Picture Frame, 27 Dryden Lane, to benefit local children through the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation. Artists are Mike Bryce, Mark Freedman, Kate Huntington, Shawn Kenny, John Riedel, Ida Schmulowitz, Anthony Tomaselli and David Witbeck. $40 in advance; $60 at the door. The Providence Public Library’s ongoing On the Table program series welcomes Hope & Main’s Meet Your Maker indoor market featuring its member companies on Sunday, April 23, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the library’s Grand Hall, 1st Floor, 225 Washington St., Providence. Red’s Street Kitchen food truck will be at the Washington Street entrance and music will be provided by Rhode Island’s all-chef band Turn for the Wurst and other local “cookin’ musicians.”

The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese Breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown, on Sunday, April 23, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The menu includes scrambled eggs, Portuguese sweet bread, linguica, Portuguese-style potatoes, baked beans, hot and cold cereal, juice, coffee and tea. The cost is $10, $5 for children 7-12 and free for children 6 and under.

Defenders of Animals will hold their Annual Pasta Fest on Saturday, April 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Edgewood Congregational Church, 1788 Broad St., Cranston. Tickets are $10. For reservations, call (401) 461-1922.
